55 Tequila

Project Overview
For this project, I was asked to design packaging for Patron's new special edition tequila that is fun, extroverted, and edgy but also cool and sophisticated. The product is to be sold at LCBO and is targeted towards males and females from the age of 19-40 years.

Colour Palette

Process
I started off by looking at inspiration to gain a general idea of what I wanted the packaging to look like. For the brand name, we had to pick between these options: 55, el AMIGO, QUÉ, and HOLA. I struggled to decide which brand name I liked most so I explored several of them. Below you'll see some inspo photos of typography, colours and imagery that I wanted to work with for my design. I also explored many different fonts and configurations of the type as at this phase of my exploration, I wanted my design to be text-heavy.

Ideation

These are some of the designs I started off exploring and I quickly realized that they lacked the fun, dimensional aspect I wanted to incorporate. I then switched over to my iPad to see if I could create a colourful gradient design as shown in my sketches and came up with the designs below (in the second row).

Final Design
I ended up sticking with the design I created on my iPad as it emulated that fun, vibrant look I was going for and had an expansive colour palette that could be targeted toward all individuals.
